Canaan Valley Trail Run
At Blackwater Falls
Saturday June 19th 2027 Canaan Valley State Park, West Virginia
Join us for the 6th Annual Canaan Valley Trail Run on Saturday, June 19, 2027, in Blackwater Falls State Park. This race will be a fun, fast, and exciting race for runners of all levels. The Exact trail and course details will be released by the New Year and will include around the same distances offered in the past (1 loop 5.9 miles, and a 2 Loop 11.8 mile option)
Registration
Registration is OPEN!!! The Canaan Valley Trail Run will begin at 7:30 am on Saturday, June 19, 2027 at Blackwater Falls State Park. Start time is tentative and will be confirmed closer to date and in participant emails.
Awards
We will have prizes for the top 3 finishers for male/female for both the 5.9 & 11.8 mile distances.
Packet Pick Up
We will have a Packet Pick Up on Friday, 6/18 from 6 – 8 pm Location TBD
We will also have race day packet pick up from (tentatively) 5:30 am – 7:00 am on Sat 6/19. Locations TBD.
Swag & Bling
All participants will receive an awesome Race T-Shirt, and event-specific handmade Local finisher medal , Tasty Beer (must be 21 or older), post-race snacks, and more.
Course
The new course for the 2027 Trail Run is still in works to make sure we provide you with the best running experience possible. Since it is in a new park, our course team is working out all the kinks still and will have a release post an email for all participants once solidified!
Directions
The Start, Finish, and Parking will all be located at the Blackwater Falls State Park. We highly encourage all runners to stay at the Blackwater Lodge or in the many cabins they have in the park. There is also camping available for those of you interested in a little more close to nature accommodations.
Lodging
As a skiing destination by winter and a hiking and biking destination by summer, Canaan Valley and Tucker County know how to put people up in style. Whether you want to rest in luxury, experience a quirky atmosphere, stay in a charming cabin, or experience camping in Tucker County, ample accommodations options are available within a 2 minute drive of the race site.
Our host offers a variety of lodging options. The Park has Blackwater Lodge (more of hotel style stay), cabins, and campgrounds. We recommend staying in the park as it is super easy to get to the race area! There are many other available options in the towns of Thomas, Davis and Canaan Valley whether you want a vacation rental, a unique bed and breakfast, or a hotel. Our sponsors, Best of Canaan, and Mountain Top Reality have amazing and affordable options throughout the area from small 1 bedrooms to luxurious and affordable mansions that are perfect for groups of any size.
Camping is available in the Monongahela National Forest, beautiful Dolly Sods, or either of the state parks. The options are all affordable, with delicious food and drink nearby.
